Edify Our Faith

1 Timothy 1:4 says, “Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.” What that means is that we should avoid rituals/traditions that bring about doubt in our faith. We should do things that edify our faith and others faith. Galatians 6:1 teaches that if we know someone who is stuck in sin we should carefully try to point them in the right direction. When we try to guide others back to the Gospel we should be careful to not stumble ourselves. Galatians 6:1 says, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” Praise God for His grace, mercy and for guiding us in our lives. Amen

Pray Without Ceasing

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.”. What does that mean? It emphasizes the importance of being in constant communication with God. Prayer is how we talk with God, ask for what we need and praise Him. 1 John 14:14-15 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” So, when we lift up our needs in prayer, if we ask with a sincere heart for things that align with His will God will follow through. Need and want should not be confused when we want something it should not be expected to be received through prayer, but if we need something then it’s different. We should pray that our hearts align with God and trust Him and pray constantly. I am thankful that I can talk to the Creator through prayer. Amen

Noble

In Acts 17:11 we learn of a church that had members who openly received the Gospel and daily looked at the Scriptures to confirm what they heard preached was true. This is something we should all do. We should not just take other peoples word for what the Bible says but test it by what God says in the Bible. Acts 17:11 says, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”. It is great and inspiring to hear of Christians in the early church having a desire for truth. Praise God for His Word and the grace He has given. Amen

Have Faith

We learn in Hebrews that faith is the evidence that Jesus is God and the Bible is true. There has been much evidence over time that the Bible is accurate but it is important to also have testimony that the Bible is true. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” . “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33″. We should desire Heavenly things pertaining to God and seek after Him. When we seek God He helps guide us and brings blessings. Jesus has 100% love for us and is God. I am thankful that through faith we have grace and are saved. Amen

One Being

God is one being that exists in three persons, Father, Son & Holy Spirit. They are not three beings or three Gods but one God in the same substance. 1 John 5:7 says, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” There is one God Ephesians 4:6. “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” While, it is a bit of a mystery God is able to be one being yet, three substances, some use the analogy of water existing as solid, liquid and gas. However, this is hard to really put into words, but the Bible clearly teaches there is one being in Heaven. Jesus was and is God existing as one being with the Father. I am thankful for the great and wonderful mystery of the trinity. Amen

Faith Alone

The Good News of the Gospel of Salvation is that we are saved by faith alone through the grace of God. Romans 4:3 says, “What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”” So Abraham received justification through faith and not works. Yes, a living faith often has works like talked about in the book of James however, the law does not justify us. When we fail to do what God wants us to do we sin, but when we sin we don’t suddenly lose our salvation. Romans 3:28 makes it clear that salvation is by faith alone it says, “For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.”. Praise God for His glorious gift of salvation give to those that believe. Amen

God’s Love

1 John 4:19 says, “We love him, because he first loved us.” What that means is that since God loves us so much even to the point of dying on the cross we should also love Him. As, Christian’s we love God. The fact that even before we were born Christ died for us is amazing and a sign of God’s amazing love for us. John 3:16 also comes to mind that God loved the world so much that He was willing to die in our place so that whoever receives Him as Savior will have eternal life in Heaven. I am thankful that through Jesus Christ we are united with the Father and given eternal life. Amen

Believe in Jesus

It is important that we believe in Jesus. A prayer by Jesus is that we would know both God & Jesus. A prayer by Jesus in John 17:3 says, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” By accepting Jesus Christ as Savior we can know that we have eternal life. Jesus was sent into the world to save sinners and we have all sinned. In 1 Timothy 1:5 it says, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”. I am thankful that through Jesus Christ we can know God and have a relationship with Him. Amen

Crush Satan

In the Book of Genesis we learn of the good news of the Gospel. Genesis 3:15 teaches us that after the fall of man someday someone would come and crush the devil. That very person who came to overcome Satan was Jesus Christ. The consequences of man’s rebellion against God by eating of the fruit in the Garden of Eden was paid for by Jesus Christ. When Jesus came and died in our place He united us to the Father so that whoever believes in Him will be saved. Praise God for His glorious gift of salvation. Amen

Well-Grounded in Faith

God in Revelation warns against a luke-warm church. We need to be well grounded in our faith and not double minded. The Bible mentions that if we are double minded we are not stable in our faith. “So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.” Romans 7:25 NASB” We should stop taking part in ungodliness and submit to Him and Satan will run away from us. God is the only way we can overcome sin, although we can never be perfect we are seen as perfect before God because of the blood of Christ. Praise God for His amazing grace. Amen.
