Put God First

We should have joy in the Lord and put Him first. “Find your delight in the Lord, who will give you your heart’s desire.” Psalm 37:4″. When we put God before everything else things begin to fall in place. God loves us all deeply and showing love and adoration for God who made you in His image is important. Your life matters in God’s eyes! God loves us all more than we could ever imagine. We learn that God has a great plan of an amazing after-life for those that believe. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”. I think God through Jesus Christ for His love for us. Amen

Love Him

In the Gospels Jesus teaches us to love God totally and completely. We should focus our hearts, minds, soul and strength in loving God. 1 John 4:19 tells us, “We love him, because he first loved us.”. Since God loved us before we loved Him it means His love is unconditional, there is nothing we can do to earn His Love. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s grace. Even when we were stuck in sin God came and died for us. It’s great news to know that God did not die for a righteous person (Bible says none are righteous), but Jesus died to save sinners. “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:15.” I thank God that through Jesus Christ salvation has come. Amen.

God Forgives

In Psalm 51, King David begins to acknowledge his sin after his affair with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah, her husband (2 Sam. 11–12).  Psalm 51:1 says, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.” God desires for us to do like David did, which is to acknowledge our sins and turn away from them. When we repent God is always ready, willing and able to forgive us of our sins and purify us from all evil.  “1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”. In this generation God is calling for all to repent and believe in Him. Acts 17:30 says, “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”. I am thankful for God’s grace. Amen.

He’s Coming Back

Revelation 1:3 teaches us that Jesus will soon come back. It was also a promise Jesus made while on earth. God wants all to believe in Him and be saved. The Lord could come back at any time. In the meantime we should do our best to live as what Paul calls Citizens of Heaven. In Ephesians, Paul talks about our citizenship in Heaven saying, “so then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household.” We as Christians should do our best not to join in the evil of the world but to be a light in the midst of a dark world. I am thankful for the gift of Heaven. Amen

Trinity

God is three persons in one God. The Bible teaches that their are not three separate God’s rather one being who exists in three equal persons and is the same being. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7” The Holy Spirit, God the Father and Jesus are all one. It’s a mystery how all this works but it is a solid Bible teaching. It is great to know this mystery because it helps us better understand who God is. Some people use the idea of water as solid, liquid and stream yet are all water. God is much like that. I am thankful for the Godhead. Amen

Lukewarm

In the Book of Revelation John speaks to the 7 churches in Asia. When it speaks of the church in Laodicea it says that it has grown lukewarm and useless. The focus on wealth and culture had caused them to stray from God and become stuck in their selfish ways. God is calling us these days to not be lukewarm. But, what does lukewarm mean? It means neither cold or hot or that is neither good or bad but to be indifferent. God wants us to be people of great zeal strong in faith abounding in good works. While our works don’t save us we should have love for God and desire to be as much like Him as possible. I am thankful for God’s grace and strength to strive to be more like Him. Amen

Reading the Bible

When we read the Bible it can help us grow closer to God. It helps solidify our love for Him. God is love and “We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19”. He made us in His love and that is what makes us who we are. We read in Acts of a people that searched the scripture daily to see if what they were being taught is true. It is a great practice that we search God’s word to make sure what our pastor or friends say about God is true. I am thankful that God is truth and love. Amen

God’s Love

God’s love is without limits. We can not fully comprehend the power of the love of God. Romans 8:39 teaches us that no person, no creature or anything at all will be able to separate us from the love of God found in Jesus Christ the Lord. The Bible clearly teaches us that God is love, and it is the perfect source to learn more about what that love means. When we read the Bible we know that God loves us and that it is His love that makes us united to Him. I thank God for the love of God found in Jesus Christ. Amen

Walk By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 teaches us that “For we walk by faith, not by sight:”, but what does that mean? It means that we trust in Jesus and even though we don’t see God we believe. Hebrews 1:11 teaches us that God working in our lives is evidence that God is real. We learn in John 3:16 that God had such great love for us that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Later, in the scriptures we learn that Jesus rose from the dead. I am thankful that God provided a way only through Jesus Christ and the grace of God to be saved. Amen

Pray Daily

1 Thessalonians 5:17 teaches us that we should pray without stopping. We should lift up our needs and thank God each day. We should be in constant communication with him, so that every moment may be as fruitful as possible. I am thankful that God hears our prayers, is with us when we pray, is with us daily and loves us. Amen
